Sunshine Leisure Centre

Sunshine Leisure Outdoor Pool
Great news! We have managed to get the outdoor pool reopened from Monday 28 September. Please be aware of some minor works being finalised around the pool, and follow directions of signage and staff. We thank you for your patience as we completed this major project and hope you enjoy these facility improvements. For the full outdoor pool update see here.  Please note that works in the Leisure and Program Pool may change operational hours and lane availability of the outdoor pool particularly once school programs return from Monday 5 October, please refer to lap lane availability and plan your visit accordingly.

Aquatic Bathrooms
We are actively working to resolve shower temperature fluctuations in the aquatic bathrooms. Plumbers are currently on-site making necessary adjustments and have ordered replacement parts. While the team has already replaced several thermostatic mixing valves, shower temperatures are still fluctuating. Further troubleshooting and investigative work are underway to fully fix the issue. We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated.

Steam Room
The recaulking of the bench seats in our highly used steam room which was scheduled for Thursday 24 September will be rescheduled. Further info about the one day closure to be announced.

Leisure and Program Pool
From Friday 25 September, the Leisure & Program Pool at Sunshine Leisure Centre will be closed to undertake thorough cleaning and painting of the floor surfaces. This maintenance works requires the pool to be completely drained, the works to be undertaken and then the pool to be refilled and brought to temperate and regulations. The spa will remain open.

We are hoping for the work to be completed, and the pool reopened and at temperature by Thursday 8 October. 

All Sunshine Leisure Centre Members are welcome to use the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre during this period.

Sauna
Please note that the Sauna remains closed as we attempt to resolve the temperature issue.

We are awaiting a specific part that could take up to a month to receive. In light of this news, we are taking this opportunity to refresh the seating, upgrade the floor surface and repair the reoccurring issue with the door handle.

We are hopeful that these works during this closure period will result in a refreshed sauna that will remain operational.

We know that this asset is highly valued by our members so are offering an additional membership suspension at no cost during this period, for those who wish to postpone their visits to the centre. This will not impact the standard six week suspension allowance.

Steam Room
Contractors undertook a service on Thursday 24 September. They attended again today Wednesday 30 September to complete additional preventative measures that will help keep the steam room running at set temperature.
